The purpose of Neighborhood Youth Services is to engage diverse youth by offering hope, a sense of belonging, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
Since 1992, NYS has welcomed the young people of Duluth, providing a safe place where children can learn, play and connect with the community, friends and family. By doing this, we strengthen families and reduce the risks that contribute to juvenile delinquency. All programming is offered free of charge.
It was the vision of Juvenile Courts Judge Gerald Martin, then-Duluth Police Chief Scott Lyons and neighborhood leaders that started our free and voluntary program. We are operated by Woodland Hills, and annually work with more than 550 boys and girls ages 6 to 17, exposing them to new opportunities, while helping them develop their individual strengths.
We are located in downtown Duluth’s Washington Community Center, providing convenient access for all youth within the Central Hillside and surrounding neighborhoods. Check out our calendar for current hours and a listing of events.
